Workshops at the edge of profound consciousness

Building on her extensive background in Yoga, Sufism, psychology and dance, Lisa has developed effective formats in which dance arises from a Sufi version of fine energy and health building practice. I’ve found Lisa’s workshops to be very well designed.

Each of Lisa’s classes is its own journey through sound, movement, and meditation offering a deeper understanding of the ancient spiritual practice of Sufism. I was attracted to the Sufi Universal Dance series primarily because I thought there would be whirling, which there is, but there is also a deep sense of joy, reverence, and humor in everything Lisa shares in her classes, whether it is whirling, mantras, or some of the more strengthening meditative movements we have learned. As a daily practitioner of yoga for many years, I was looking for some new perspectives on movement and meditation, and I certainly found them in Lisa’s workshops. Because she is intuitive about working with students from all levels of spiritual knowledge and physical well-being, her classes are always seamless and flowing even when shared by participants of vastly different backgrounds. This is an uplifting and interesting practice that anyone can access through Lisa’s friendly energy and inclusive teaching style. Highly recommended!

Lisa Joy’s workshops have increased my level of engagement with the present energy of each day, increasing my capacity to gracefully move throughout the day. She has made it accessible, and enjoyable. I absolutely love learning how to move within meditation. Lisa brings her own transcendence to her teaching. I found the workshop to be a review and remuneration of traditional Sufi principles; the all One, and the root of Sufism coming from ancient words, music and chants. The dance and movement flowed organically from the beginning practices sitting and moving gently. Intrinsic in our make up, expressed through the breath and it’s development.

Lisa’s meditation workshops are totalizing, purposeful, and, as a New Yorker, well below the price point for what I’ve come to expect from a low-commitment transformative weekend. I suffer from both insomnia and intense anxiety. As someone who often gets agitated during yoga or meditation sessions that aren’t well-led, I was surprised to find that the three hours with Lisa just flew by. Since the Saturday session I dropped in on, I’ve experienced the best sleep I’ve had in weeks and find myself much calmer and in flow than usual. Four days later, the edginess that I’ve come to think of as a second nature has been seriously reduced. If these workshops were taught on the East coast, I’d be in regular attendance, but will look forward to experiencing remotely. This class is more than worth the price, the value is exponential.

The tides of knowledge, inner stillness, self love & wealth of cosmic presence have opened, shifting, transcending within my Life allowing an unending transformation ever rising as my life’s experience expanded.
